The function of this charity is to help towards the cost of maintenance and upkeep of Ladies Lodge Almshouses, and help toward energy and other costs for residents.

There is a very small annual payment made to incumbents of some local churches, and an

annual rent for farm land at Totternhoe is collected.

Grants are made to people in the neighbourhood of Dunstable, to relieve unexpected hardship. These are usually referred by community health and other local organisations.
